Haven’t done this in a while.. but I’m home on the couch after a visit to the dentist which involved lots of drilling and poking..

Today’s Topic: 10 Things To Do Inside When It’s Too Cold To Go Outside

Perfect because I hate the cold and like to be inside when it’s not warm and sunny out. ;p

1. SLEEP.

2. Knit. (of course)

3. Spin.

4. Attempt to play with Cricket loom.

5. Harass the cats.

6. Make some homemade soup. (totally my plan for later today)

7. Catch up on TV Shows via Netflix.

8. Do all the housework I’ve been avoiding.

9. Curl up with a mug of hot tea and a book.

10. When in doubt.. sleep some more.

And just so this post isn’t completely pictureless… here’s a bunny!

This week’s topic: 10 Ways to Lighten Your Mood

1. Go shopping. Buying myself something that is just for ME will usually cheer me up. Of course, sometimes one can go overboard and spend too much money and that causes other issues… but for that moment, it’s a great pick-me-up.

2. Go for a walk. Its amazing how just getting outside and walking can make you feel better. It’s pretty easy to distract yourself with nature.

3. Listen to music. Depending on how I’m feeling, it can be anything from angry, loud rock to cheerful, happy, bouncy music, but either way, music is usually something that puts me back on track.

4. Find a fuzzy buddy. Pets are good for snuggling and making you happier. This of course is entirely dependant on their willingness to sit there and behave.. but really, who can be sad or angry with an adorable purring kitty on your lap?

5. Call your bestest or a good friend. We all need to vent sometimes, and letting it out is a relief.

6. Take a nap. Sometimes all I need to get out of a funk is a nap. I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start over.

7. Knit or spin. I will often take a break when I’m at work and sit outside for a few minutes with my knitting or a spindle. It usually helps to destress and keep me from running away. Of course, if all you have with you is a lace shawl project that you keep screwing up, this isn’t really that helpful.

8. Booze. Not a lot, mind you. Just a glass or two of something to help you relax and take the edge off. I’m partial to a glass of wine or some Captain and gingerale.

9.Get together with your grrrls. Hanging out with friends is awesome, especially if you’re ornery. They’re the best people to get you out of your mood. And if they cant….

10. Have some alone time. Go home or out, do whatever YOU want to do that helps you relax and get your mind off of things.

This week’s topic: 10 Things To Bring on Vacation

Man, I wish I had a vacation coming up….

1. A good suitcase. Preferably one that is easily identifiable so as not to get lost at the airport, and roomy enough to bring back extra stuff. And sturdy.

2. Clothes. Not just the ones you think you need, but some extra tops, pants, undies, etc.. and something nice just in case you go out.

3. Camera. I’m a photo junkie and I tend to take LOTS of pictures when I go on vacation. (maybe it’s the asian in me, I dunno) I think I would blow a gasket if I forgot the camera. 😉

4. Extra money.

5. Knitting, of course. Be sure to take a project that is small enough to take with you places, and a different one for when you are in your room relaxing. Nothing too complicated.

6. My bookreader. Normally I would say a book, but I am completely in love with my bookreader and I love the fact that I can have a lot of different titles available to me at once. Last time I went on vacation, I read my entire book on the flight there and had nothing else. FAIL.

7. Different shoes. At least a pair of sneakers, heels, and sandals. Extra something if you can fit it in the suitcase.

8. Phone. I don’t really like to take my phone with me.. when I’m on vacation, I really don’t want to think about home, or work, or anything but relaxing.. but I need to call the ‘rents and let them know I made it alive. And it’s handy if you’re stuck somewhere or need info. Or if you reeeaaaally just need to check facebook while you’re away. I happen to enjoy the no internet aspect of vacation though.

9. A game plan. I like to look at different things in the area and try to plan some places I want to see, and some activities I want to do. Lying on the beach all day is awesome, but you gotta know where the good food places are!

10. Friends! Vacation by yourself is boooooring! (although sometimes I want to go away for a week and not talk to ANYBODY…. but I’d miss everyone after about a day.)

This week:  10 Things to Bring on a Camping Trip

I’m not much of a camper, but it is fun.. even if the bugs eat you alive. 😉

1. A tent. I don’t know about you, but I’m not about to sleep where wild animals can crawl on my face at night.

2. Sleeping bag. Totally not going to sleep on the ground… brrrrr

3. Tools Kit: including a rake, matches, small hatchet, knife, rope and mallet

4. Bug Spray. This is super important. Make sure to spray before you get dressed as well as after. Those bugs will bite you EVERYWHERE.

5. First Aid Kit. Just in case. And especially if you’re camping with someone who is klutzy, like me.

6. Food and water. Important: BRING STUFF FOR SMORES. It’s not camping if there isn’t melty marshmallowy, chocolatey and graham crackery goodness to nosh.

7. Toiletries: baby wipes, hand sanitizer, deodorant, etc.

8. Few extra clothes and an extra pair of sneakers or sandals.

9. Random things that you should bring but are likely to forget: garbage bags, toilet paper, and small camping cookware.

10. Last, but not least, knitting! Pick a project that is easy to wash and small.

This week’s topic:
10 Things You Like About Where You Live.

Well I just moved two weeks ago to a new town.. but it’s still close to where I was so this shouldn’t be too hard, right?

😉

1. I can walk to the grocery store, various food places, and coffee.
2. I am now a lot closer to some awesome friends, so I can hang out with them more.
3. I am appx 1 hr away from WEBS!
4. Boston is only a couple of hours away.
5. I’m close to my family so I can visit (or not) when I want.
6. Lake Compounce is 15 mins away.
7. There are little yarn stores to explore nearby.
8. Lots of hiking trails to check out.
9. I get to see the different seasons. (even if I don’t like them all)
10. I get to carpool to work now, saving lots of gas.
